How Are Markets Created?

Currently, users cannot create markets on their own. All markets on Oyrade are created by the core team after a thorough review process to ensure that each market has a clear question, an unambiguous resolution method, and sufficient public interest.

The Review Process

When a new market idea is proposed, the team evaluates it against several criteria. The question must be precise enough that there is no room for interpretation about the outcome. There must be a specific date or condition that determines when the market resolves. And the outcome must be verifiable by an oracle or a trusted public data source.

For example, "Will SOL be above $200 on April 15th?" is a well-defined market because the question is specific, the date is clear, and the price can be verified by Switchboard V3's on-chain price feed. On the other hand, "Will Solana have a good year?" would not be suitable because "good year" is subjective.

Market Categories

Oyrade supports markets across several categories. Crypto price markets cover tokens like SOL, BTC, and ETH, and are resolved automatically using Switchboard V3 price feeds. Pump.fun token markets track whether specific meme coins will reach certain market cap thresholds, using Switchboard V3 combined with Helius indexing. Political and world event markets cover elections, policy decisions, and global events, and are resolved through the UMA Optimistic Oracle's propose-and-challenge mechanism. Sports markets cover game outcomes and tournament results, also resolved through UMA.

Suggesting a Market

If there is an event you would like to predict on that is not currently listed, you can suggest it to the team through our Discord. The team reviews community suggestions regularly and will create markets that meet the criteria above.

Community members who hold the Staker tier (100K+ staked $OYRADE) can also submit formal market creation proposals through the governance system, which are voted on by veOYRADE holders.
